I’m not sure I want to know about Mr. Fergus’ “internal operations!” Good Morning CD vice presidents! Way to go puppybreath congratulations citizen Grog (Canada’s loss!)
Ahh, now this makes clear why I have never liked those officious executive types. Come on Fergus, stop pretending your something you were never meant to be and just be your old sweet lovable self.
Good morning indeed, and a day filled with love to Dry, StelBel, Citizen Grog, Sugie, Cleokaya, x_Tech, JP Steve, Lonewolf, Nighthawks, noicant, Plods, and the whole CD gang!
Well at least we know what kind of internal operations he’s talking about, but I’m sure Mr. Puddels would have liked to know about it up front before being elected for the position.
Good Morning, cleo, sugar, Fellow Baby & the rest of the CD gang
OHHHHHH MYYYYY GOD, Stelbel! I’m so sorry for my stupid error a few days ago…..I just now realized , after going back and looking at the posts that I did indeed mean to say that the saint I had in mind was dear, sweet puppybreath……..I must admit that I am a sucker for anybody who thinks about animals the way I do and especially for someone who goes that far out of their way to care for an animal that, I am sorry to say, most people in the world would not even consider. Anyway all is clear now. My basset hound (a rescue, by gum) once again snoozing contentedly beside me is not named Fred……the name of the cartoon doggie. This is Sam, my fourth consecutive basset. I fell in love with basset hounds when, as a child, I used to watch ’People’s Choice’ a tv sitcom from the mid to late 1950’s that featured and some say starred a female basset hound named ‘Cleo’. the actors (Jackie Cooper amongst others) furnished the straight lines and then the camera would cut to a close up of Cleo and a sarcastic female voice would be heard hilariously commenting on whatever was going on. ‘Cleo’ still remains a popular name for bassets , I have heard.of course, you young whippersnappers out there probably don’t remember this old show but if you were getting your whipper snapped , you didn’t have time for tv, anyway …….
Fellow Baby, I do like like labs & German shepperds as well as dobermans & rotties (a friend had one of each at some point), but I also like beagles very much. In fact I’ve got a wall calendar of them this year on my office wall. If I were to take a chance, I’d go with the beagle.
I’m not crazy about those yappy poodles & French poodles though.
Howdy StelBel, JP Steve, x_Tech, puppybreath, noicant and nighthawks! I must admit nighthawks I am not familiar with that old program, Jackie Cooper yes, but not that program.
cleo Funny, I could see you if you were a dog as a Basset hound, with those big sad “puppydog” eyes! The kind of dog you want to cuddle, just like a teddy bear! :-)
Yes Fellow Baby, beagles are nice, had one when I was a little girl, her name was “Sneakers” after the dog in Margaret Wise Brown’s children’s book, which was one of my favorites as a kid. .
I’m just glad we’re both on the same page. I didn’t like thinking that maybe you thought I was being sarcastic or something. The fault was all mine, ‘cuz I could have been a whole lot clearer. Anyway, enough of that!! Right?I, also, have a little rescue dog who came up to Massachusetts from Tennessee. He’s the cute little guy in my avatar: Maxwell Milton (he came with the name, Maxwell and we added the Milton after my dad.) He’s an Australian Silkie Terrier, now a year old, and full of personality. We only adopt rescues. They make the best family members! In ‘98, we adopted a female who( unbeknownst to us at the time) was pregnant. She had 4 puppies that we kept. We also had 2 other rescues at the time for a total of 7 dogs. That was in my younger days! I don’t remember watching that particular show, but the premise sounds vaguely familiar. I always liked Bassets (though never had one), and I bet Sam is the cutest and most lovable guy going!!!Hope you and Sam enjoy the rest of the day. We’re having a beautiful day here…the kind of day that makes you think Spring is right around the corner!
I’m sorry about your brother. I hope you get tested regularly as I hear it runs in families. You are lucky though to have siblings, and it seems you had your brother a long while. I always felt I missed out on that. My parents were wonderful, but I always wished I had someone to grow up with other than a couple of cousins.

Fellow Baby, my aunt and cousins had a poodle once. Even you would have liked her I think. She was one neat little dog!

We have been trying to decide whiter to get another dog. I love them to no end, but they do hinder your ability to be spontaneous.

Spontaneity is not a strong trait in me. Only the unexpected can influence my actions, otherwise I try to plan at least 2 weeks ahead.

noicant now I understand your move to Oregon.
