I am so sorry to have just missed your posts last night. We must have been posting at the very same time, and I don’t always remember to click on REFRESH LIST.
Anyway, my opinion? Your sister was never interested in helping you out with your mom, and just looking for a way out of doing anything. “The best defense is an offense.” I think that’s the strategy she’s used here. It doesn’t matter what the circumstances were, she would have found a way to get PO’d and just write you off. And, I’m sure, in her head, she’s convinced herself that she is right in doing that. Otherwise, how could she live with herself? In my opinion, she could not handle the whole issue of caring for her mother, even for a few hours (not that she’d ever admit it). Because, if she really cared for her mother, she’d be there, regardless of her issues with you. Whether her issues with mom go way, way back or simply because mom is now no longer the person she used to be, your sister wanted out of the whole thing, and has wanted out right along…long before you made the move up there…. she made it clear that she would not be available to help out. She was too busy…Her issues with you are secondary. Her primary issue is that she cannot deal with your mom and has no interest in delving into the reasons why.
Do not waste your time and energy dealing with your sister anymore. That will sap your strength. Trust me. Morally, she is so wrong, but no one will make her do what she has no interest in doing. You need to focus on things that will help you and your mom. I’m glad to hear that you’re planning to attend the support group Wed. night. That’s a great start; to get some real help in there for you and also just getting moral support in a group of people who are dealing with the same issues as you. They may have ideas that you hadn’t thought of and you’ll be able to offer up ideas that have worked for you.
hey noicantspellbutImakeaconcentratedeffortto,I was just funin’ with y’all yesterday.if I were still on that (insert cusswords of your choice here) facebook I would friend you.I know, that is kind of an empty gesture, but that is pretty much what I am…..an empty gesture….and a gracious good morning to you
stel ol’ bel, I DID catch last night’s comments and your REAL straight skinny (although I think MY straight skinny can whip your straight skinny’s butt) and i was appalled that you spent that much time to get a word balloon into a photo. Life is too short for that. maybe with a little practice you can pare it down to 45 minutes or so. hathe beauty of captioning is you can have fun with photos, like this:
No I don’t think so, sugar, but judging from the winter strips, those fish would prefer to sit by the fireplace rather than build snowmen and go sledding.
sugie yes, the elderly definitely suffer in the heat because most of them are of the era where they won’t run their fans or air conditioners for fear of “running up the electric bill”. The heat we have had the past few days my parents would have had a difficult time but at least with mom, should would say “the He!! with it” and turn on the fans anyway! But their house was always cooler than ours because they had a lot of shade trees. And ours is brick.
Stel if I could figure out how to email pictures to Photobucket I could post pictures of the “little bits”. Oddly enough, she (Mom Cat) had another litter this year that she had at that same Catalpa tree, only this time, she put them up in the tree!
Hubby said “leave them alone, they didn’t climb up there by themselves, she is obviously taking care of them”. One day we didn’t hear them anymore and no sign of her. Finally oldest got the step ladder and went and looked in the tree, 2 were dead, but he and his brother got to poking around and discovered a little teeny tiny one laying under the other 2. Oldest took it home with him, and she is a cute little thing. About 8 weeks old now, maybe 10. A day after he took her out, Mom Cat FINALLY shows up. Hubby says, “Watch her, she’s going to head right for the tree”. Up she went. Too late, Mom. She’s not a very good mom if you ask me. Haven’t seen her since and it’s been since May.
Of course, we took it to our longtime Vet. He told me, “Next time, hide the step ladder”. In other words, he was telling me to quit rescuing all these animals, you can rescue them, but take them to the no-kill shelter, or ROFF or something.
ben another one of those days…(sigh)seems i would get used to moms periodic streaming psychotic fits.oh, well. they only last so long. then she gets tired, and everything gets back to normal.
The penguins are so cute. I had no idea they could be so bad!!(lol) Penguin/Cat is the cutest! Time for me to hit the hay. Hope things stay calm for you.
Oh noicant! Not sure how you mean a WOW moment, I will have to surmise, but however it was meant, good, bad or an awakening, ((((((((((((((((((noicant)))))))))))))))))))) Again, I wish you peace when times are hard. I can’t remember how many times my mom would NOT take her pills. She was a Registered Nurse for 40 plus years, Lt. in the Army Nurse Corp during WW2. She ALWAYS remembered she was a Nurse. Perhaps that’s why she would skip her meds. And she always told me, years before, I will NEVER go to a nursing home. NEVER. She saw it all, and I mean pretty much ALL. I would get frustrated sometimes with her, but tried NEVER to show it. I think it all boiled down to the fact that I KNEW I was losing my mom AND IT HURT LIKE HELL! I KNOW IT IS HARD, I KNOW IT HURTS LIKE HELL, but you HANG IN THERE for her, YOU WON’T REGRET IT, I PROMISE! She knows somewhere, deep in there, that you LOVE HER AND SHE LOVES YOU!I hope my post doesn’t upset you. It is meant to help you in some SMALL WAY, to know that you are not WALKING ALONE, even though we are miles apart and have never met, that you can come here and at least for a moment know that some of us have been there, perhaps in different ways, but we understand and WE CARE!

Thank God for air conditioners!! Even pools aren’t refreshing enough when the water gets past 85°.
