My Medicare Advantage plan pays for my membership. I mostly go for the classes. They are fun & enjoyable & I’ve made a lot of friends- a lot are just members I’ve started talking to. I really can’t do the cardio anymore as ll the new equipment takes away most of the control. You enter your age & weight & it decides what level you get to use- no longer fun. I did use a trainer for awhile, but he left & now the rates are too high.
Check your health insurance policy. If you use a health club some minimum number of times per month, the insurance might cover part of the club’s fee for that month. If you have Medicare, look for a Medicare Advantage plan that lets you use a health club for no cost. Where I am, this might be Silver Sneakers or One Pass.

It’s like the opposite of Mitch Hedberg buying an expensive pen so when he loses it, he’ll actually care.

Mine is free so I feel guilty if I don’t take advantage of it.

I went to a remedial gym for four years, for the travel expenses. I’m a veteran.
During the first three months after I noticed my back becoming more flexible and stayed that way and a lot of pain never came back.

I joined a gym 4 months ago and haven’t seen any improvement at all. If it doesn’t improve soon I’m going down there in person and find out why.
