I wish that I could do without an automobile, but I live in the country. At least I try to limit myself to going into town to an average of once a week.
By the way, that’s a 1963 Corvair up above. One of the many cars that Nader wrote about in his book, Unsafe At Any Speed , but the only one that people seem to remember. Nader doesn’t drive, hence the driver I put in the car (but then, who does drive in the water???) lol
Good so far, Shika. I think I was putting the old feed bag on some corned beef & cabbage when you dropped by. Now I’m suckin’ on a couple beers while watching The Rockford Files.*
It’s one of those Irish boiled dinners, Shika. I boil it with seasoning until tender and boil some cabbage and taters separately. I drain most of the water from the veggies and add butter at the end. When the corned beef is ready, I slice and top the cabbage with it. The corned beef usually takes about 3 hours but the veggies take considerably less time. I like my corned beef with hot mustard.
I won’t do it this year, but more local restaurants are making their own corned beef, which is so much different and better than the pre – cornedstuff you buy in bags in the meat department. So, I am going to make my own, but it will be sometime between now and next year’s holiday.
I think I was examining the inside of my eyelids Grog and cleo. Sorry I missed you both. Thanks for the recipe Grog. We made it (mom did) in a pressure cooker. I tend to boil the cabbage and then add the corned beef and cook it. I’ve never added potatoes though. That makes it more complete. I use hot mustard too.
I was worried that I might not get enough hours on my paycheck. Now I’m worried I might not get enough rest.Go figure…,Good night people lucky enough to have pets.

Well I think it’s time for me examine the inside of my eyelids very closely for about 6-7 hours.
