The restaurant staff is sending you a message.

Is there a “thank you” on the bottom

That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

If I can’t say it ten times fast, I ain’t paying it!

Isn’t that nice. And he didn’t even have to ask for it.

I’m surprised the cranky, old guy in the orange shirt didn’t say anything about it.

Gracious!

don’t go to places like that.

“Please accept with proper gratitude or we will taunt you a second time.”

No one is adding a gratuity, gratuitous or not, to my bill without my specific direction. There’s no law requiring customers to leave a tip and there is most certainly no set required amount.

Does that mean that they don’t have to tip?

Until they get paid a living wage.
