Nighthawks, in response to your question (and Susan’s inference) I would like to explain the source of that quote (at night when you’re asleep, into your tent I’ll creep).

The song, Sheikh of Araby, was (I think) first performed by Django Reinhardt. The words were written but I did not find a version with a singer. But I think everyone knew the words! Great guitar-intensive jazz.

Internet screwing up again, I will follow up.

    Okay, everybody….

Sorry it was a little slow arriving…..

but then, it does involve the US mail…. and you know what they call that.

But here it is, at last…

this week’s side by side puzzle:

    Phew!

Now I won’t have to fear the wrath of PerkyCat….

BTW… that mailman uses some very colorful language.

Cover your ears, PerkyCat and Montana Lady!

Stel… you should be OK….. LOL

    THE OLE SCALAWAG’S

    Humorously Fabricated

    !! DOG vs (mail)MAN !!

    Saturday Postal Puzzle Non Solution

       1.  Top panel: Cleo isn’t celebrating, she’s dancing the Robot Macarena. Bottom panel: I made that up. There is no such thing as the Robot Macarena.

       2.  Top: Nighthawks, famous for his uncanny resemblance to Sgt. Snorkel, employs Mort Walker’s grawlix technique to indicate the mailman said a bad word. Bottom: The mailman said “shucky darn.”

       3.  Top: Actor in Cleo suit is that guy who played R2D2 whose name I can’t remember but I thought he died last year. Bottom: Actor in Cleo suit is Sgt. Snorkel’s dog Otto celebrating birth of another MontanaLady grandchild.

       4.  Top: Ole Scalawag is quickly running out of material for this week’s non solution due not to his own lack of imagination but rather to the rerunitive nature of this week’s puzzle. Bottom: I apologize for my inability to work “’57 Studebaker” into this non solution in a NON GRATUITOUS manner.

       5.  Top: Do I still have one more to go before I get to the Highly Technical portion of the non solution?. Bottom: Yes.

6-9.  Highly technical. Only Melania Trump, Chairwoman of Cleo & Co. Advisory Committee for Proper Shoeware & Vamping; Jennifer Lawrence, Director of Hotness; Susan☼, (you see what I did there?) Special Projects Coordinator for Virtual Cake Baking and Posting Long But Informative Messages Between the Hours of Midnight and 6:00 A.M. C.D.T.; PerkyCat (who shamed me into discontinuing references to Barkie Howladay) & StillTheBelleOfTheBall, Sr. V.P. of Dithering, Tampering, Postering & Purpling, would understand.

It took me longer than Alexi, but I only got 8. The one I missed was VERY obvious and I should’ve gotten it! Golly!

Loved Cleo’s dance, whatever you may call it. She sure is happy! I love these 9 Differences puzzles………….it makes me appreciate Nighthawks’ talent. Do you see all the details he puts in his art? Little things, like the cracks in the sidewalk, and the hair on Claude’s arm, and the shoulder protector on the mail bag. If I wasn’t looking for the 9 differences, I probably wouldn’t notice it because Cleo is so……..um……….sooo……..clever.

    thanks, M’ Lady.

but I just put those little things in there to keep you guys’ eyes busy…..

the more things to pore over, the harder it is to solve …..

.talent? no, not really—-I’ve just been drawing silly cartoons since I was in the third grade—-I drew them everywhere…..onthe pages of my Algebra and Latin books when I should have been studying….on the blackboard when the nun wasn’t in the room…..on scraps of paper when I was on thephone….just, constantly drawing cartoons.

    it’s just me
