There are a lot of things in old science textbooks that students were meant to take as “cold hard facts” which have now been discarded. The physics, chemistry, and much else is still the same (with some updates, tweaks, and additions), but in some other areas it gets pretty stinky (you won’t see eugenics at all). “The truth shall set you free” is from a much older book.
