This is a bit of a changeup from C and C. Human actors with an adored, but inanimate, basset. Who literally sparkles in the role of a lifetime, so to speak.

Now THAT is a priceless statuette fighting for.

Cleo wasn’t yet a big shot actress, but on her way up I do believed she posed for this statuette.

For a moment, I wondered whether she was posing live in it…

Cos I thought the rump was left un-glittered to save her from the fate of Jill Masterson in Goldfinger.

But I don’t think she’s in there….

It would have taken a lot of expensive special effects to shrink her to statuette size….

and a LOT of bribery and Milk Bones to get her to hold that still.

No… the statuette is composed, as the script says, of the stuff dreams are made of.

I’ll be pairing that one tomorrow night with the Of Basset Sleep.

I think Bob & Rusty need a bigger couch to luxuriate in.

Sorry for yet another rerun, everybody. I do have a new one in the works, but couldn’t get it done in time for today. So, I chose a real oldie, hoping no one would remember it (foolish me! Susan’s memory is like a steel trap!).

Susan, btw…..your link just brings me to todays posting, although I’m sure you meant it to go to the original date. I’m not sure if that’s just a sign that my computer is stubborn (after going back and forth between the 2 dates last night) OR if it’s some sort of general glitch. Anyway, the original post date (I think…. I suppose it could have been even earlier than this, but I don’t want to go through the entire archive…) is: April 19, 2016.

Oh! And, by the way, thanks, everybody, for all the great comments you’ve been posting…..not only today, but on Tuesdays and Thursdays all summer! I DO see them and appreciate them all!

NOW I SEE, said the blind man. I have “stumbled upon” the secret meeting place you all talk about. DUH! I didn’t take a look at the comic date, just Marg’s date. HEY STEL, what do you expect? I have only had one cup of coffee so far! :-D And yes, it really is me. I will have to mark this date down so I can find you again.

No…..we won’t be here tomorrow! We’ll be at the August 10, 2008 Ballard St., which is the next day from this one. We’re always on the Ballard St. page that is exactly 10 years older than the current one.

Well, Stel, I don’t remember The Maltese Basset, so it’s like a new one for me! I think it’s pretty cool to have all those sparklies, and I see what Susan was talking about with the bare rump. Clever. We wouldn’t want to hurt our Cleo!

Was it always sparkly? I don’t remember the sparkles.

Another great and sparkly poster……even if it is a rerun. I enjoy the reruns as much as the new ones.

As for Ballard Street, this is pretty much me since I retired………except I am female and don’t have a dog…………but, otherwise…………
