Put it inside a bigger can.

Get someone with a truck to drive over it!

Put a sign “please remove” on it. That worked for me.

That old can is better than any modern can. Guy brought in his dad’s old (75 years?) can for us when we did Annie. It was perfect!

Good question, how do you trash a trash can?

I had a plastic one and just cut it up and put it in the new can.

Mine was finally taken when a strong wind blew it into the street and the garbage truck ran it over. They just threw the whole thing into the truck!

I had taped a sign to one I wanted to dispose of stating it was garbage.

One of our neighbors faced a similar situation. He solved it by running over his beat-up old trash can with his pickup truck until it was a flattened sheet of plastic. (It looked like he was having fun while doing it.)

You need to telephone the company and get a replacement. And dump a leaking carcass of some sort in the old one to ensure they’ll take it away.

You call the garbage company and tell them you want it taken away.
