Good morning, crew!

Yes, it is May the First. In three days, it will be May the Fourth. May the Fourth be with you.

May Day was an important day historically. It marked the beginning of summer which then consisted of the months May, June and July which is why Midsummer is in June. Nowadays, we see Summer as beginning in June. Here in the UK, we celebrate the first weekend in May and the last weekend in May with two Bank Holiday Mondays.

Happy International Worker’s Day (AKA Labour Day), everybody.

May 1 is also Beltaine / Byaulhine, one of the four major cross-quarters of the Keltic year, halfway between Vernal Equinox and Summer Solstice.
