The old vacuum tube sets were warmer, and there was room on the top for cats to lie there and supervise/be worshiped. That’s probably why they liked it up there…
The cable companies don’t want to go to “ala carte” because too many of us will not buy as many channels as they feel they need to sell us to maintain their obscene profits.

Ginger is the best thing on TV. Don’t remember any of the cats resting on top of the TV, one did watch TV however.
