Cats will wait until they hear the can opener. A short stretch, a little leg rubbing, a nosh, and a nap on the sunny patch on the floor. Or the back of the couch by the window.
Unless that room is a kitchen! If I’m in the kitchen my dogs (and my dogcat) think, “She’s doing KITCHENY THINGS! There may be EDIBILITY afoot!” and they gallop in. And if I’m simply making a cup of tea they give me that “I’m really disappointed in you” look and I actually feel a little guilty. Life! It gets complicated!
