when the toast is burned and the milk has turned and Cap’n Crunch is waving farewell, when the big one finds you may this song remind you that they don’t serve breakfast in he!!from Breakfast by the Newsboys
Oh, no, we’ve done lots of crunches, it’s just been so long we’ve forgotten. And I think they called them something else back then… but… I’ve forgotten…
I had some of that cereal once. It was so bad I did wan to eat anymore of but rather than waste it, decided to feed it to the ducks and geese at a local park. They wouldn’t even eat it. So what does that tell you about that cereal?
No, no, you read the back of the box. Again… and again. When it first came out it had pages that opened on the back. Don’t remember what the ‘book’ was about. Just impressed to see it. No prize inside. Blast!
I was small when Cap’n Crunch debuted (born in 1961), but I never had any of it. My preference was for Post Crispy Critters, “the one and only cereal that comes in the shape of animals.” Anyone remember their spokes cat, Linus the Lionhearted?
The last kids’ cereal I had as an adult was Lucky Charms. I ate one box of it and haven’t eaten any since. It’s too sweet and fattening.

I don’t believe I ever had that cereal as a kid.

Funny — and clever — how advertisers give cereals appealing comic ‘personalities.’

It wasn’t around when I was a kid—‘Cheerios’, ’Kellogg’s Corn Flakes’, and their ‘Variety Pack’ ! ! !

Plugger likes cereals that are sweet as candy.

I preferred the version with “crunch berries”. Now my go-to cereal is Grape Nuts and I have goat kefir with it.
