Happy birthday to Red and Rover! First strip premiered on May 7, 2000, and we’ve been in love ever since. Thank you to Brian Basset for 24 years of adventure and joy.

Oh my, gosh! 24 years. Time surely does fly. Red and Rover has become my favorite comic. I read it first thing in the morning, so I can start my day with a smile. Sort of my emotional support comic, lol. Thank you, Brian, for the beautiful gift that is Red and Rover.

One thing I’m grateful for is that this comic is a magnet for some of the nicest folks in the internet. I don’t like to use other online messaging platforms because everyone is so jaded, mean spirited and hypercritical of everything.

Awww… a boy and his dog. Nothing like it when both are young.

My border collie would sneak up on the bed and we’d be sleeping back to back. Very secure feeling.

I save most of these in my ny daily newspaper and will look at them occasionly I am 89 and love them
