A good vicar knows everyone in his flock. Two and four footed.

There is a wonderful clip of Marmaduke at the foot of a church, with a pastor who is saying don’t worry, all dogs go to heaven! I saved it!

If anyone can save the lost, it’s the man who knows every dog by name!

As a Yank, any reference to a vicar always just reminds me of Hyacinth Bucket in “Keeping Up Appearances”. (BTW, it’s pronounced “bouquet”.) ;-)

It is always a good feeling when someone is happy to see you AND remembers your name.

That’s the sort of person you want for a vicar, for certain.
