About 20 years ago I bought a 90 gallon trash cart from Home Depot, and it cost $90 THEN.

Good thing I live in an apartment. That way, my trash can won’t go missing because it’s always inside.

I live on a hill. We have had rain that took the bins down the hill and around the corner for three blocks

My garbage service owns the bins: Garbage, Mixed organics, and Recycling. I rent them along with the pickup service. Bin breaks, they replace it. Uniform bins can be picked up with THE CLAW, it makes for fast service.

It’s worth it. Not for the can, for the satisfaction of closure.

Where I live, we don’t get to buy our own cans. We take the ones supplied by the company that picks up our trash and recycling. One week they were so full, we had to press a couple of older ones from the former company into service. The trash in them was not collected. When we called, we were told they were the wrong cans, and would not be accepted!

For what they cost they should take themselves out.

DH takes trash out when full – live on farm – one dumpster for 4 houses, our is farthest from dumpster, closets to aunt & uncle – he goes over to visit with his uncle every day, so never need to worry about trash, he checks to see if he needs to go when he goes over

Our city issues three kinds of bins — rubbish, recycling, and organic. At my request, I was switched from 64 to 48 gallons, much easier to manoeuvre.

But if you catch the criminals, the stealing stops. So the tracker may be faster in the long run.
