If you only have Medicare (not Advantage / supplement) , Medicare will only pay for a “wellness exam” which is interview only, other than blood pressure, and does not allow any actual physical exam. Medicare in general will not pay for preventive care for example they will pay for a tetanus shot if you get a cut but will not pay for a 10 year booster shot (Part D will pay). They will only pay for routine blood test every 5 years unless your doctor codes the test as diagnostic instead of preventive.
My doc doesn’t even have me take off my shirt at my physical. I wish he would at least look at my skin for signs for skin cancer. The days of stripping down seem to be over.
