In Notes From A Scandinavian Kitchen, coauthor Florence Ekstrand recounted how her brothers told her the outhouse was where the first family that homesteaded their farm lived until they proved up their claim and built the house. I don’t know how many times I read that before I made the connection that one of those brothers was my great uncle Ernie – who WOULD tell somebody something like that.

His dad is “cool” with the temp tattoos, not so “cool” with the jokes, Good balance!

I’d never heard of dad jokes until after I retired and started spending too much time online.
