Going thru my moms accounts we discovered she has one checking account that rounds everything up. The “up” portion was placed into a savings account. Mom was so horrendously incapable of taking care of her finances it never stayed there long.
I wouldn’t mind rounding up as long as it becomes universal. I’m so over retailers who think the majority of the public are stupid so they price things with .99 cents stuck on the end so we’re fooled into thinking that $9.99 isn’t $10.00 it’s only $9.00. I guess a lot of people just look at $9.99 and think "oh it’s only $9 so maybe that tactic works in some cases. Anyway it makes sense to get rid of useless pennies which everyone just hoards in jars and round up or down depending on what side of 50 cents you’re on especially since most people pay with credit cards instead of cash
That’s something I don’t understand. I go to a fast food place and get a burger. All the counter person does is hand me my burger and yet I’m asked to tip them. Perhaps if the tip made it to the cook, I’d be more inclined. I asked and was told that the counter person is the “public face” of the establishment and they got the tip. Uh huh, right.
Even with a cash-back card and the Rockin’ Randy’s BBQ Burgers frequent diner’s plan, you’re behind. At least you’d have to load up on the condiment packets and napkins to assuage your guilty conscience for such a splurge. You did bring a tote bag for that didn’t you? I was asked if I wanted to add a tip when I went through a self check out line at a supermarket.
A self check out.
At a supermarket.
I literally had to scan the stuff I will have to cook myself later at home. What the **** am I tipping for?!?
