I agree with him. A hawk would be cool. You could watch them swoop down and grab the critters. I had a hawk living in the woods next to the house a few years back. Saw it swoop down and grab a snake and take it back to the tree. Pretty cool.
Un-baited mouse traps work well.
Don’t underestimate owls!
We have cats. We don’t have voles, Yorkies or any other vermin.
When I was living in a farm community, the cats would bring the voles in the house and play with them. Though the voles usually didn’t live long.
We have two owls that sometimes spend the day in our backyard trees. No vole problems.
