Now this is really funny! Who would have guessed just how smart that Edgar is.

Is the backyard fenced?

It might be an irate neighbor at the door—Greg, maybe—calling to complain about Edgar digging up his yard. BTW, I hope Eddy has a collar with an ID (I don’t think there were microchips when this strip first came out.).

Edgar’s now a ding dong. A real goo-furball!

“Too Cute” (Discovery Family, daily at 1pm) has an episode where the little momma dog (I think it was a Brussels Griffon) has been trained to bump her nose against a little cluster of bells dangling next to the door to the back yard when she wants to go out. It’s so cute to see her ring the bells then stand there looking up expectantly while a human comes over to let her out.

I read a post online where someone saw a cat on a porch that looked like it wanted in the house. So they went up and rang the bell then beat feet to see what would happen. The owners had strange looks on their faces.

Why not just leave him down by the river? What could possibly go wrong?

Edgar’s new name is Avon.

I think the dog wants in.

Better yet, he’s figured out how to ring the door bell.

When I was but a wee lad in NH. We had a collie that would ring the door bell to come in.

I’ve seen some dog and cat videos on America’s Funniest Home Videos that were truly amazing at what they could do.

We had a cat that learned to ring the doorbell when he wanted in from the porch. Or when he wanted us to join him out there.

Uh-oh. Trouble

Somebody’s car broke down and he needs a dollar for gas

Decades ago, someone was baking pies. The odor of the pies attracted a bear. The bear was exploring the exterior of the house by standing on the back feet, and using forepaws against the side of the house. One of the paws pressed the doorbell button. So, the cook opened the door to see a bear standing there.

Guessing it is a neighbor at the door reacting to Edgar’s shenanigans.

She needs to push hubby out of bed to let in the dog!

The backdoor has a bell?

How utterly irresponsible to leave your dog out at night and not supervise him. Ugh!

Edgar just wrote his ticket to being a permanent “Outside dog”.

Edgar got out of the back yard.

I’m guessing that’s not Edgar?

Ding-Dong? Was that aimed at Edgar or Elly?

Had a cat do that once. Fortunately, not in the middle of the night.

Probably range the doorbell by accident.
