Wait, what?? I was counting on Endtown being there for our heroes to return to. Along with catching up with all the Endtown residents we’ve come to know and like/dislike.
Others have brought up the thought of alternate timelines in which Endtown might have indeed been destroyed. Which now begs the question: in which timeline are they in now?
And how does Terrence know that they’re currently two hundred miles away from Endtown? Does he know where they currently are, and if so, how does he know?
Don’t remember when but, early in the story line, the top-siders did try and nuke Endtown. They drilled and let off a blast but due to some deception technology Dr. Mallard created, the blast was outside the range were it would have done damage.Of course, after Wally and Holly got out of Endtown, they might have signaled that the last attempt by the topsiders missed.
More of this coming soon to a theater (of the mind) near you!
Well Wally’s escape may have given away Endtown’s location. That elevator would be very hard to miss lying on the surface. Now we have a number of survivors at 41. There were other camps…..time to start walking.
Remember that the rats came after Wally & Holly using one of the other elevators. When they could not capture those two, they should have dismantled the other elevator (or even just dropped it down the shaft), and covered up the area. October 8, 2013.
I think Terrence is referring to the nuclear strike on the false location. But we shall see … maybe.
But even if Endtown is still there, there is that 200 miles without food, water, shelter, etc. Gosh, if only a guy with a dimensionometer would open a hole for them to just jump through into Endtown… or someplace safe …Yeah, I know. Wishful thinking…
Marx may or may not be in control of all of the multiversity, after all his having that Dimensionometer seemed not to be a thing he made but rather “liberated” as we used to say. But even if not in control he certainly has influence; and that influence may have taken on tremendous importance when he snapped his fingers as the Cardoodle World sun went Nova. Pray tell Aaron…what surprises await the lads and lassies on the beach.
That is an interesting statement…about Endtown being nuked. A number of commenters on here with much better memories than mine have mentioned that a nuclear strike was made against Endtown—but it was towards a decoy location. Professor Mallard explains that in the strip from 11/02/2010. I had to go back and find it. With that history, Terrance’s statement isn’t surprising—and could actually be good news. That would mean that the Topsiders have no clue that Endtown is still there. But it wouldn’t explain how Terrance knows the “Endtown” is the name of the settlement.
Terrence knows about where they are because the Topsider power plant explosion was visible.
He knows the distance to Endtown, because there was, after all, a nuclear strike in that vicinity. 200 miles might just be a rounded off/up number. Exact distance meaningless without some means of transport and supplies.
I wonder if he knows about the attack on Unity? How far was that from Eden?
And there was the town that the Topsiders wiped out just before Wally & Holly got there. If I recall, it had a source of water. But it was some distance from Unity.
Be interesting to see a map, especially given their present location by the ocean. Terrence could probably provide locations and distances.

You never know where Aaron is going to take his story…
There are characters last seen in Endtown who we’d like to see again, but Aaron has taken away characters before this

We’ve seen Marx telling stories in Endtown about Wally’s adventures a lot more recently than “quite some time ago”. Time to boggle Terrance again.

Not all facts are factual. “Quite some time ago” may indeed be the attack that missed.
