Wherever they come from, whatever their breed, whatever their story; a dog will always be a dog.

Our family has rescued shelter dogs. They really are sweeties, but they’ve had some very bad patches in their lives and need help feeling safe again. Just love them until they no longer remember being hurt.

I can remember the moments when each of our shelter dogs realized this was their forever home.

I would take a shelter dog in a minute but the only ones available in our area are very big dogs indeed who need lots of exercise, long long walks, etc. And quite often are “not good” with children or other dogs. Not suitable for an 84 year old woman.

Sometimes I regret reading the comments in other strips because people can be so unkind. The above comments are from kind, loving, and good people. Thank you all for giving your homes and hearts to our four legged friends. ❤️

Annie is a sweetheart. She thinks the same way my son does.

We rescued a pittie off the streets. Sure, I was a little nervous because of the ‘A Pit Bull will tear you apart for fun’ reputation, but she was a sweetheart. She wanted to be a lap dog, and to have her belly rubbed. D-mn cancer.

Our other pets are all cats. Most of ‘em didn’t even make it as far as the shelter, we just pick ’em off the street and change their lives.
