Stating the obvious: Americans watch a lot more TV than they read. Television is passive and it reflects our own culture hence it’s easier to digest. We do love our junk food.

Regardless of who originated the quote, it’s relevant to that household. Although I guess it’s Rob or Satchel who usually get Bucky out of his “situations”.
