I’m surprised Caulfield finishes his summer reading, and quickly. I’d have thought he would read what HE wants to read, not what they told him to read.
I’m more worried about how much he’s actually getting out of the reading list books. And, that he’s not getting outside to exercise & interact with his pals/other people.
Are summer reading lists a thing in the US? There was no such thing in Canada when I was in School during the 60s and 70s. Not that I had to be forced to read.

I used to put Marvel comic books in my school books. Guess which one I was reading: Spiderman or American History.
