I know this could be an unpopular opinion, but I think the second movie was better. The original gremlins were dreamed up in WWI to explain the problems with the latest in unaliving technology, fighter planes. In the second movie, gremlins appear in a high-tech computer-controlled “smart” office building. It keeps the theme of gremlins being technology sabotagers. They even get to play with the latest scientific development: genetic engineering.
