Now I hear Jiminy Cricket singing “When you wish upon a star…”

Look!…. Quick make a wish. I wish I don’t get hit by that meteorite !!!!

We still don’t know how many there are, likely never will. A lot, though.

There are an estimated 200 sextillion stars in the universe (that’s 200 billion trillion).

On the other hand, even under optimal viewing conditions, you can still only see about 2000 at one time without optical aids.
