When I was still a youngling I was moved around a lot by the US government, because my Dad was involved with a secret project to decrypt the Viet Cong’s radio traffic back in the days before satellite communications was portable, so we had to move to places where he could get VC radio chatter by bouncing off the ionosphere. Places like Nebraska, Morocco, Washington state… Anywho, we developed a motto, “Expect the best, prepare for the worst.”
Ticks & tests is not the worst-case scenario. That would be summer weather and sadistic male teachers with wooden paddles (Yeah, I really hope I’m showing my age with the latter…..).
