Makes me think of the family dog we used to have. She, like all creatures, had her preferences on what she would want or not want to eat…but if she so much as thought something else might eat it instead (like one of the cats we also had), she’d quickly snarf down just about anything just to ensure she was the one who got it and not anyone else, regardless of whether or not she actually liked it.
