My grandma would feed that to the chickens. She made the most delicious fried chicken.

A little girl offered me a bouquet like that. “Thank you,” I said. “I don’t often get gifts like that.” Her mother said: “I do.”

I used to (in the spring) pick bouquets of ‘wild flowers’ for my Mother ! ! !

Grandma’s like any bouquet from the grand kids, even if they’re dead weeds or her prized flowers, roots and all, from her garden.

An age old tradition, nice. Used to do that myself back 70+ odd years, also made necklaces.

Maybe the Grandson picked the blooming dandelions from her yard. That would be nice, too.

I did the same thing. Mom laughed and hugged me, then told me about pretty flowers that are sometimes not so nice. i must have been about four; it was during Truman

My mother didn’t live to be a plugger, but she appreciated the bouquet of dandelions I gave her as a little one.

OR, a Plugger gives them a nickname. The one I give them is: “Yellow-headed, soil-sucking demons”, but that’s only for the ones in my lawn and garden. The rest of them, I enjoy.

No grands as never been fortunate enough to have children. Our niblings range in age from around 12 to 33 and all but one of them are no longer around.
