When no one would play with him, one of our dogs would toss his ball down the stairs and run down to retrieve it. He did this, over and over.

Rover trained him well.

Red has balls to play with but only plays with one.

I am more interested in seeing Rover’s adventure @ the Groomers. They must look forward to seeing Rover. I would!

Wonder why Red didn’t go along

It’s nice to know they treat Rover to a groomer. I groom my Lizzie! It’s not perfect, but less expensive, lol!

We miss seeing Rover today!

If I were Red’s dad and saw this, I’d say, “That boy badly needs a human friend.”

I don’t recall seeing or hearing about pet groomers in the 1960s, the setting for this strip. Doers anyone else (perhaps someone who lived in a more urban setting than I did) recall them?

Though I do remember a trend of older women who had their poodles dyed the same color as their hair- ice blue, light lavender, and apricot were popular.
