my dog wants her collar back on right after a bath. She stares at it on the counter until you put it back on. She never gets tied by it or walked on a leash, it’s more of a necklace for her. :)
None of our dogs have worn collars indoors. We learned that lesson 35 years ago, when our first rescue, a Fox Terrier named Mykei, nearly choked to death when her collar caught on one of the metal securing hooks inside her crate. Luckily, my son heard her gagging, and got her unhooked and out before any permanent damage was done. She did bite her tongue, and was noticeably shaken, but was otherwise fine. Mykei never went near that crate again!
