Rest in Peace, Willie. A great player and a class human being.

Arguably the greatest player ever. He excelled at each of the “5 Tools of Baseball”: hitting, running, fielding, throwing, and speed. RIP.

In a spelling bee, Charlie Brown spelled “maze” “mays” because he was thinking about Willie. RIP.

Second greatest player of all time.

I had the pleasure of sitting in his private box a few times. I felt like I was in the presence of royalty. Very generous and gracious man.

He got me loving baseball and watching him play, great memories. I still remember “The Catch” against the Indians, unbelievable. Vic Wertz was robbed by a shining star.

You know a guy is great when everyone gets compared to him. Watching baseball for 50 years, I heard it many times. I was lucky to watch Ken Griffey Jr. live. Of course when he was young, you know who he was compared to.
