“squirt!”

Mine uses the scratch post and the diningroom chairs. Cats are like that.

They are rebellious creatures but we love them anyway!

A trip to the shelter?

Ny own cats had the same thought.

Time to break out the water bottle. Cats can be trained, they just want you to commit to the program.

“Scratchy-post” train your new kitten (bribe it with cat-treats) and it will never scratch your furniture. Ours was 20 years of proof that it works.

I wanted a nice house with good furniture and my wife wanted lots of pets over the years. I’m glad she won, our house isn’t a showcase but it is a loving home

Time for a de-claw.

Where is the water spray bottle?

I remember reading about an interior decorator who in a sense employed a cat for this purpose. She said it forced her to stay au courant with the latest styles.

You can lead a cat to a scratching post, but you can’t make it scratch.

Sofa, so bad.

so just put the post in front of where he scratches!!

My first cat shredded my new couch while I was at work. He’d do when I was home too but then I could stop him. He did learn to use a scratching post and I covered the arms of my couch.

Scratch the post, no human attention, scratch the couch, immediate attention.

Grab by the tail, fling into traffic. Problem solved.
