Nostalgia for e is Sambo’s, now named Taffy’s in Pueblo, CO and the fresh made lime aid. It’s not just me. My aunt still lives in CO Springs and will stop for it when she goes to Pueblo. We were discussing how none come close to the recipe they use.
The price here for their two meals is absurdly high; probably it was exaggerated a little for comic effect. But while it’s true that restaurant prices seem high, I always balance what I’m paying against the amount of food I’m getting and the way I eat. Often what my wife and I spend on a dinner out is really for two dinners, or a dinner and a lunch. It’s very rare that we finish our entire meals and don’t have leftovers to take home.

I haven’t had a good pastrami sandwich in decades. Order a Reuben around here and you get corned beef.
