A better stimulus would have been to hand people limited individual options instead of free money to waste. Solar, wind, geothermal for those with houses, to cut down expenses long range. Sewing machines and materials; good bicycles with large baskets and good chains with locks; free classes on container gardening, nutritional cooking, real simple bookkeeping and planning, with free child care on site thrown in and a free group meal after the class, for any of us. Just things that really stimulate the economy.
How much of the money that the big-screen cost went to other countries???

I never got the idea of big screen TVs..who really needs a 60 inch tv that costs more than some mortgages?
