One thing I am grateful for: my dog is absolutely unperturbed by loud noises. Fireworks, thunder, gunshots (I take her hunting), none of that fazes her.
My sister’s golden retriever is terrified of loud noises, and my mother’s husky was afraid of the wind.
When Finnegan was younger, he never seemed to mind fireworks. Maybe it has something to do with age … He turned 11 last month. Just recently, he has begun trembling and scratching at doors when he hears fireworks.

Poor dogs. Our family dogs suffer in spite of the calming meds etc.

This should not be presumed to be okay. Too many animals and veterans suffer greatly because of these fireworks.

Our 50-pound dog is terrified of fireworks, whereas our 10-pound cat ignores them.

And veterans? Anymore 4th reminds me of “duck & cover” warnings from the 50s.

Did he remember where he buried the Thunder Shirts, and reserve a spot in a cellar?
