They lost their good reputation. Old Subarus lasted 250,000 miles.

Huh, I have several friends with Subarus, and they all seem happy. Having never had one, I wouldn’t know.

My 2004 Subaru Baja never rusted but it did have to have head gaskets replaced. Fortunately it was under extended warranty at the time.

2nd comic today about a dog catching a car, I wonder if some cartoonist get together on these?

Now you have to figure out what you’re gonna do with it if you do catch one.

The head gasket in my Mom’s Subaru had to be replaced twice during the 5 years she owned it. She was in her 80s at the time and really didn’t drive it all that much. On the plus side, a friend’s dog was in one of their “driving dog” commercials about 10 or so years ago.

    I driven Subaru’s for almost 40 years, they’re wonderful.

He must’ve meant Nissan….the head gasket blew on my Nissan Rogue, I had to replace the engine after the warranty expired. The AC went and they weren’t able to fix it, now I have to replace the alternator (the alternator can go on any car, just thought I’d throw that in there).

I knew Subarus supported dogs, but I didn’t think this was what they meant!

I had the first Legacy Outback (’97) and its gaskets failed at some 60,000 miles. A common issue I learned, but the car was great. I had them replaced and not another issue with the engine itself for the next 15 years and 200,000 miles. Rust came at the age of 12 or more but I got that done as well. Boy, did it run on gravel! Sadly it committed seppuku the day before I took delivery of a new car.
