Some of the few commercials I like are the Geico (?) ones in which a counselor is trying to prevent kids from turning into their parents, it rings too true for me.
So, if you sound like YOUR mother and she sounded like HER mother who in turn sounded like HER mother, etc. etc., just how far back do these sayings go? Dawn of mankind?
Sometimes it’s a good thing. When my son was old enough to ride a bike, I used to tell him constantly…”Watch out for cars, because they don’t watch out for you!” Same thing I was told.
You forgot “Answer me!” Immediately followed by "DON"T TALK BACK!" then, my favourite “Wipe that (confused?) look off your face!” The implication of which is that I’m giving her a dirty look when I’m not but the hearers don’t know that. And be sure to say it through clenched snarling teeth.. ya really gotta sell it that the kid is BAD! ◑﹏◐

I unfortunately found myself saying the same things my mom told me when I was a child. It’s scary!!

Sometimes you have to be a parent, not a pal.

What’s really fun is watching your kids sound like you.

BS. Be your mom, you turned out okay. Your sister is the dip and obviously didn’t pay attention.
