    We gave speeches to but they always ended with “Your grounded, or you loose all electronic privileges, or no friend contact for a week or two, no driving, to bed by 9 each night and lights out, etc.” That always got their little minds to pay attention and start begging. We laughed and turned around and walked, “Can’t hear you.”

    There was a similar Calvin and Hobbes strip. In that, his thought bubble in the second-to-last panel was something, “Looks like she’s wrapping up, better start nodding.” The final has mom saying, “Good, I’m glad we had this talk.”
