Our ram got to wanting to run up and butt you when you turned your back. Dad saw him start towards him because he was watching out of the corner of his eye. So when the ram got close to Dad where he couldn’t stop Dad sidestepped him, caught him under the neck and flipped him onto his back! Stunned him enough for him to shake his head. Didn’t run up behind Dad again.
Kinda’ along this story line; at one time we had quite a flock (?) of geese on our property. One was quite ornery, nasty, and unfriendly.He would get the others ‘wound up’ and there were rarely any peacful moments. In front of all the other geese I put him down, d-feathered him, and we made a delicious Thanksgiving meal of him. All the other geese watched this, quietly. And we never had another problem with them again. True story.
I’m just gonna take a second to celebrate the demise of the ‘gray bar’. Uhg I hated that thing. I don’t know what convinced them to get rid of it, but: about time! Sort of a stupid idea to cover up the content with ads.
My Shelties have experienced sheep that aren’t OK with being herded. Their defiance doesn’t last very long, usually just a few seconds before my dogs have them back in line again. No need to take a “trophy” except for maybe a mouthfull of wool.
