When I first got my push cart I left it by the green. Noticed my golfing buddies looking past me and smirking. The cart was rolling toward a nearby pond. Ran and caught it just in time. Thanks guys!
I learned how to play golf in high school gym class. We did not play in the normal manner.
In the gym we each a driver, a ball and a Barbie sized doll wig. The ball was put into the wig on the floor and we would hit it with the driver. Teacher was always planning to take us to a golf course so we could really play.
A few years later husband and his family with me along were going to an “upstate NY hotel” – meaning full service, meals included, evening shows included… He had learned to play golf from a golf teacher, but had never played on a course either – his dad had him learn as “when you are in business you will need to know how to play golf to make deals”. Husband went into education and mental health counseling so never needed to play golf to make deals.
He bought his set of golf clubs as one could play the golf course at the hotel. It is the only time I have actually played. I hit the ball straight – but not very far. He would hit the ball far, but not that straight. At some point we apparently teed off on one hole and when we got to the hole we had headed for – it was a later hole!
It was an experience. I think he still has his clubs in a closet our office or the "teddys’ room " – the two spare bedrooms in the house.
Apparently golfing is another thing we are not good at.

Could’ve been worse; could’ve been a motorized golf cart! (Screech! Crash! “Um, Fore!”)
