The Supreme Court decided on Wednesday that writing checks to politicians as thank-you payments for corrupt contracting decisions does not constitute bribery under federal law. The vote was 6 to 3, with the three liberal justices — Ketanji Brown Jackson, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan — dissenting.

    It’s not a bribe…. it’s a “THANK-YOU PAYMENT”………..

Now do one showing Sotomayor using her staff to sell her books to enrich herself….That’s an actual felony.

The current version of the Extreme Court is a pathetic joke. Unfortunately the joke is on all of us.

Another reason to turn out and vote blue (no matter who) on Election Day. Whoever wins the White House will likely need to appoint at least one or two Justices between Jan. 2025 and the 2028 Presidential race (with the 2026 midterms in the mix). My hope is that Biden is reelected and the Democrats expand their Senate majority by at least a few seats. So that if/when Thomas, Alito and/or Roberts either retire or fall ill, Biden can appoint replacements for them and we can rebalance the SCOTUS. Enacting term limits on SCOTUS Justices and replacing the filibuster with a straight up and down vote in the Senate would be helpful too.
