Maybe an interesting observation: Feeding our cats used to be a circus of making sure we bought specific style and flavors of the big name brand. Then we had to make sure the flavors were mixed up in the stacks so the cats never got the same flavor twice in a row.
There was so much uneaten food left on plates if we didn’t follow the routine. Even then they sometimes balked at what was offered.
They all stopped tolerating any flavor we offered and we had to switch food. After several missteps, we finally landed on the Royal Canin pate. However, it only comes in one flavor.
Still, relieved the oldest and frailest ones were eating again, and no one was erping anymore, I braced myself to deal with the flavor issue when it arose.
That was about a year ago. I’m still waiting. They are still snarfing it up, no questions asked.
We try to give the clowder something different every day. The same thing day in and day out is how you get finicky eaters. We rotate through about 5 – 7 different meals and mix up toppings and other stuff. On occasion we have a special treat. Like for Tuesday it will be chilled chicken and steak that we barbecue for Monday’s celebration. I was able to score some fresh salmon and they’ll get that today. Cats are obligate carnivores and Little Friskies and Meow Mix are not good for them in the long run.

Miss Kitty, my dearly departed tuxedo kitty girl, loved dry Cheerios.

I’ve bought chicken & waffles flavored cat treats on a whim once. Surprisingly, my fussy cat ate them.

Gravy-flavored cat food would be another good option.

Good taste. Waffles are my usual Sunday breakfast.
