My cat certainly has emotions. She’s very playful, mischievous, a craven little coward, sort of apologizes when she realizes I’m mad at her, and when she’s completely worn out, you can feel the contentment radiating out of her.

All these things come from, or cause emotions, one or the other, or both, I don’t know. But they’re there.

My animals definitely have emotions. I’m the middle cat’s favorite human and he sulks when I’m gone for more than a day. He has to have bedtime cuddles every night and insists on waking me just before the alarm to let me know he’s STARVING!

“But it’s only one data point…I must confirm with dozens of others…” And another crazy cat person is born.

Nobody who has lived for any length of time with a cat or dog doubts that they have feelings. And I wouldn’t argue with parakeet people if they claim the same.

No point in running through the list of possible pets, but I’d concede that if you keep an ant farm, you probably shouldn’t expect them to wag their antennae every time you come home.

Things we can prove by science are true and things that we just know are true may be different but that does not make either one untrue.
