I went to a 4th of July party where they had a machine connected to various bottles of spirits and pods with machine-read codes for different cocktails. I don’t drink, but I thought DNKN’ musta considered such an invention.
I have had only 2 dogs in my life. I taught both of them the meaning of “Be ashamed!” they would lie down and cover their shouts with their forepaws, and whimper in acknowledgement that they had dome something a Human considered to be unacceptable. They had to stay that way until released to go elsewhere. Both my pups hated to be commanded to do that, but complied.
Gradually, they learned what circumstances would engender that command (like chewing on shoes or tearing up furniture) and quit doing that stuff.
Does not seem to work for cats, though. They just get sneaky.
BTW, don’t fall for the age-old ‘wisdom’ that animals ‘do not remember’ what they did wrong. When caught and before being reprimanded, both my dogs eventually would drop and cover and whimper without my even having to issue that command. They knew, not only what they had done wrong, but when.
