Were Trump to attempt that act, he’d be tried and convicted by Congress. That’s how it works. Congress can convict the President. Not some political hack working for another President that is a political opponent.
Today’s ruling just enforces how lucky we are that Garland is not on SCOTUS. Clearly his rule over the DOJ demonstrates no understanding of the Constitution.
The Supreme Court’s ruling applies today, not next January, and the sitting president today is Joe Biden. Declaring tRump a Clear and Present Danger to the United States of America and locking him up should be on the table. But then Biden must also charge the same to 6 Supreme Court Justices. The very ones who made this decision. Then charge the one who gave this Great Nation this mess, Mitch McConnell.
In our history we’ve had the wealthy attempt to take our Nation away from WE, the People’ many times. WE, the People’ defeated the wealthy’s attempts. We declared Independence when WE, the People’ finally became fed up with a king’s dictatorship. As others have said, they will count on the honest people to not use the power they just gave. What they always fail to count on is a PO’d Liberal. In every war, every battle, every Law, every attempt to threaten our rights it was Liberals who rose up and defeated every enemy. They just PO’d the Liberals, again.
If he makes president, there should be another Jan 6th to get rid of him. His disregard for the constitution and the laws of the land, preclude him from being fit for any public office. Maybe a crossing guard, but they have far more integrity than the felon.
His legal team has already applied to have his hush-money case overturned. But he was ruled to have “some” immunity for “official acts during his term in office”.
He was charged and convicted for making false entries in the business records of tRump Corp. How is that an official presidential act?
The events in question occurred during the 2016 election campaign. That was certainly not during his term in office.
Garland’s managing of the DOJ in a non-political manner has been a masterful balancing act, given that he has to deal with the most dishonest, mentally ill former president in history. I am so over MAGA starting each sentence with “No president in history has ever…” and that is because no President in history has ever violated so many laws.
Congres doesn’t have the Ba**s to try and convict him. They had 2 chances to impeach him during his presidency but his MAGA followers in Congress saw to it that didn’t happen.
This is a low form of specious reasoning. Impeachment, the only thing Congress can do, is a political solution. They can only remove him from office. The implication here is that the president can be convicted and punished for his crimes by Congress. This is not true.

Johnson has called for invoking the 25th amendment to remove President Biden.
trump friendly judges(including scrotus) have delayed as many of his criminal trials as they could.
And he still plays lots of golf.
