Mrs. Dear’s allowed to take a good break every once in awhile. She does work hard and what Mr. Dear doesn’t know, he can’t complain about. Don’t know if he would, but why take the chance.

As long as dinner is ready and the house is clean I’m good with the 2 hour break but I’m deducting it off her paycheck.

Does it really matter how much time she spent talking to Mary? If you’re not out working for monetary remuneration, you never quit working. It’s right there, from getting up to going to bed, always waiting to be done. So, as long as it’s done to Mrs. Dear’s satisfaction, that’s all that matters.

Why is Mr Dear giving her side eye? Is she not “allowed” a break? Why did Mrs Dear feel the need to even tell him about her break?

Dogs cant tell time. If I’m away from the house 5 minuets or 5 hours, my dog greets me with the same enthusiasm. Fred wouldn’t know the difference.
