Reminds me of two very similar experiences trying to help two different small businessmen win government projects. Government RFPs (request for proposal) usually contain questions that one must answer (to the government’s satisfaction) that one’s company has the staff and financial resources to successfully complete the project… in both cases these businessmen refused to provide answers to those questions. Then they were shocked when they didn’t win the contract. [One of them, five years later, still tells everyone that his proposal is “still being considered” but is waiting for funding (that project was awarded to a competitor, who completed it four years ago).]
Their behaviors caused me to ditch both of those businessmen… neither “business” has amounted to more than what the IRS calls a “hobby”.
