My manager at one company took off for a long holiday to use up his vacation time before retiring. He took off the day after Memorial Day (paid day) and came back the Friday before Labour Day (paid day). But he “worked” July 4, just so he’d get one more paid day. This was when I worked at MMM, of course. :-/
